DIVING IN BALI

As you know, the island of Bali has beautiful stretches of beaches with different sand colors in each region. The boundaries of the island of Bali can be described as follows:

North: Bali Sea.

South: Indian Ocean.

West: Bali Strait.

East: Lombok Strait.

 

No wonder it is very easy to enjoy the beauty of the beach or other watersport activities such as surfing, snorkeling and even diving.

 

This time we will share diving spots especially for those of you who just want to start!

 

1. Menjangan

Menjangan Island is located west of the island of Bali. Precisely in Klampok Village, Grogak District, Buleleng, in the north of the West Bali National Park area. It takes you about 4 hours from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali.

 

To reach this island you have to cross by boat. You can go to a small harbor called Labuhan Lalang in Teluk Terima or via a small pier in Banyuwedang Bay, next to Mimpi Menjangan Resort. The boat trip to Menjangan Island takes between 30 to 40 minutes.

 

Here you can enjoy diving activities at various different levels. Especially for those of you who are just starting diving, one of the suitable spots for you to visit is Secret Bay. With a depth of 10 meters you can see nudibranchs, frogfish, shrimpfish, seahorses, dragonets, pipefish, lionfish, crayfish, ribbon eels and various rare and endemic marine biota.

 

Apart from that there are other spots where you can see the beauty of garden eels and sea fans. Eel Gardens is located in the western part of Menjangan Island. Here diving will start at a depth of 40 meters. You can find further information in here!

2. Tulamben

Tulamben is a sea located east of the island of Bali. Precisely in Tulamben Village, Kubu District, Karangasem. This area is a small village that is developing with its sea tourism.

 

Here you can start diving at a depth of 30 meters and explore the wreck of the USS Liberty. This ship is famous because it is very easy to access. This 120-meter-long ship was stranded on the beach but when Mount Agung erupted in 1963 it was dragged out to sea and sank.

 

Besides that, there is also Suci's Place which is located at a depth of 9-12 meters. At this spot you can see a garden with statues of Buddha and his mother, Dewi Tara. There are also statues of manifestations of gods in Hindu religious beliefs.

3. Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is famous for its Giant Stingray (Manta) and its Mola Mola (Sun Fish). You can also find the beauty of various colorful coral reefs and beautiful coral fish.

 

For those of you who are still beginners, one of these spots will be your choice, namely Crystal Bay. These waters have white sand beaches, and also crystal clear sea water. Here, divers have the opportunity to see sunfish.

 

Besides that, Lembongan Bay can also be an option for those of you who are just starting diving activities. This dive site is a shallow dive site with a depth of 5-10 meters, so here besides diving you can also snorkel.

 

Lastly, if you want to meet manta you can visit secret manta or manta point. If you are lucky you can find mantas with small sizes up to 1 meter. This activity is the most popular agenda because visitors can swim closer to the stingray.
